Obituary for Melvin Seals

On June 4, 1943, the legacy of Melvin Lee Seals Sr. began in Smith County Mississippi. Melvin was the only child born to the union of the late Woodrow and Mary Lee Seals. He attended school in Mize, MS and at an early age he joined Mount Vernon Baptist Church of Petal, MS., under Pastor Carl Burkett. Later in his legacy, Melvin joined Church in the Lord Jesus under the late Pastor Johnny Crosby. At the time of his demise, Melvin was a resident of Petal Mississippi Melvin was joined in matrimony by the late Bernice Madison Seals, Mary Chestnut Seals, and he leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife of 23 years, Clara J. Seals. During his matrimony, he was united with the ten children; Terry Madison, Melvin Seals Jr., Brenda (Bill) Cooley, Joe Melvin Seals, Ruth (Kevin) Scott, Katherine Foley, Marie Seals, James (Brittany) Foley, Sabrina Foley, Angie (Andre) Smith. Melvin also have a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Melvin will be remembered as being a very friendly person and was affectionately known for being a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. Melvin was no stranger to hard work (Marshall Durbin, Mississippi Railroad, Waste Management, MDOT, Petal School District, Self-employed at Melvin’s Lawncare) and often found doing what he said he would do. When it was time to relax, you could find him enjoying his favorite food or ice-cream in his favorite chair.
